Surgery is a particular area of expertise at Hambleton Equine Clinic and we have invested in a large and purpose-built operating theatre for general anaesthesia cases as well as a specific standing surgery theatre.
We offer a full range of surgery options for horses; there is no surgical procedure that we cannot perform. We have invested in surgical equipment including a table with specially designed padding to ensure the comfort and safety of your horse. We also know that the greatest risk to any horse undergoing general anaesthesia is during recovery, so specific attention has been paid to the design of the induction and recovery room to minimise any potential risks a horse faces either side of surgery.
Our standing surgery theatre is air conditioned to maximise the comfort of the horses and there is a specially designed set of stocks to help restrain horses safely. This has enabled us to perform many surgeries standing that used to be exclusively completed under general anaesthetic, which in some cases is safer for the horse.
