Internships

Hone your knowledge and develop your skills

Internships at Hambleton Equine Clinic

Our internships are offered for 18 months at a time. We usually offer a start date of April or October in each year but for the most up to date opening please see our  job opportunities page for the application process.

Support while you are here

We believe that we have a significant part to play in the future of the veterinary profession so it is important to us that your experience reflects that ethos, and that we support you throughout your time here. We operate a mentor system and have specific vets dedicated to improving your competency in various areas of veterinary practice. Your time here will include specific learning goals and you will know just who to ask for help at every turn.

Facilities

HEC is fully equipped for diagnostic processes including radiography, ultrasonography, a Hallmarq standing MRI unit and nuclear scintigraphy. We have a spacious purpose-built equine theatre with knock down/recovery box, standing surgery and ICU boxes. Your internship will cover surgical, anaesthesia and medical key skills.

Why do this?

We believe that the internship will provide the successful applicant with all the necessary skills to go on to general practice and also offer a sound platform to advance into a residency program. It is a friendly team so we are looking for candidates who enjoy their work and will be enthusiastic members of our staff – it will be hard work but very rewarding.

Applications

It is important that we meet you before we consider applications. If at all possible we like our interns to have spent some time seeing practice. If you are interested in that first step then please contact us on recruitment@hambleton-equine.co.uk

Applications should also be made to that email address, complete with a covering letter. Please keep your eye on the job opportunities page to see when we are asking for applications for our next intake.
