Caroline is a founding Partner of Hambleton Equine Clinic. After qualifying from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2005 she moved up to North Yorkshire to take up a position as an Equine Vet. In 2012 she set up Hambleton Equine Clinic with the two other Partners. Caroline has a particular interest in racing having trained and ridden her own point to pointers and is Senior Veterinary Surgeon at Catterick and Sedgefield Racecourses.

Phil is one of the founding Partners of Hambleton Equine Clinic. Having qualified from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2005 he completed an Internship at The Equine Medical Centre of Ocala in Florida followed by a Surgical Residency at Michigan State University. As a result of these advanced qualifications he is one of very few veterinary surgeons in the country to hold dual US and European Diplomas in Equine Surgery. His particular areas of interest are lameness and surgery and he has a high racehorse and sports horse caseload. Philip has overseen the design and development of the clinic from the start and as a result has developed a hospital from which he can provide a referral service for vets across the North of England.

Alison is a founding Partner of Hambleton Equine Clinic. She qualified from The University of Liverpool in 1997 and worked as an assistant vet at a practice in North Yorkshire for 15 years before setting up Hambleton Equine Clinic. Alison has a particular interest in Equine Reproduction and has helped develop the reproductive caseload to include Embryo Transfer and advanced fertility investigations.

Alastair Kay joined the practice as an Equine Surgeon in May 2022. Alastair is an ACVS Specialist in Equine Surgery and has worked in Newmarket and Lexington. Alastair graduated from Liverpool University and completed an internship at Rossdales and in Kentucky and his residency in equine surgery in Ohio, he qualified as a Diplomat ACVS in 2009. Alastair has worked in referral institutions and as a surgeon in the US and the UK; he specialises in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery and lameness. Alastair enjoys working with race horses and performance horses.

Charlotte qualified from The Royal Veterinary College in London in 2002 and has worked for Hambleton Equine Clinic since 2014. She joined when we were an ambulatory practice initially working one day a week but has helped the practice to grow and now works 3 days a week. Charlotte has a particular interest in equine internal medicine and stud medicine and holds an Advanced Practitioners Certificate as a post graduate qualification. Charlotte attends Chatsworth and Bramham Horse Trials as an official treating vet.

Tess Goodwin, formerly one of our interns here at HEC, has recently rejoined us as one of our ambulatory team. Whilst she was away, she worked both for Rossdales and did a stint in New Zealand in a rural equine practice.
In her own time, Tess is a keen horsewoman and the proud owner of a beautiful chestnut mare called Amber.

James is a graduate of the University of Cambridge Veterinary School. He began his career working for a busy equine and farm animal practice around Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, where he developed a special interest in equine dentistry and disorders of the skull and sinuses. He joined Hambleton Equine Clinic in December 2017 and now leads the team’s dental caseload.
James is an RCVS advanced practitioner in Equine Dentistry and has particular interests in tooth extraction techniques, periodontal treatments and sinus surgery managing cases within the clinic and on a referral basis both at our clinic and around the country.
James will also occasionally travel to treat working horses and donkeys in The Gambia for The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust, and when not working likes to spend time doing activities in the local countryside with his two children.

Evie graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2017, having undertaken externships at Rossdales (Newmarket) and Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital (Ireland) where she worked with a team specialising in neonatal foal intensive care. Evie joined Hambleton Equine Clinic in September 2017 and spent 12 months working in the hospital as an intern before joining our ambulatory team. Her particular areas of interest are lameness, anaesthesia and critical care.

Sarah joined us in May 2022 as an Ambulatory Veterinary Surgeon. Sarah is from North Yorkshire so she knows her way around this part of the world. She is a 2013 graduate of Bristol University and completed an internship at Rossdales. Sarah then moved on to a mixed practice in Wales before returning to Yorkshire Equine prior to joining Hamilton Equine Clinic. She is currently studying for her Advanced Certificate. Her specific areas of interest are breeding and thoroughbred work.

Mark Thorne is recognised as one the most experienced and professional equine dental technicians in the UK. He has a wealth of knowledge and 30 years of experience in equine dentistry. Mark is a founding member and past Chairman and council member of the British Association of Equine Dental Technicians (BAEDT). He is also an examiner in equine dentistry for the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA). Mark is available on a Monday and a Wednesday

Jude joined HEC in January 2019. She studied Equine Science and Management at Bishop Burton College and after graduating she began work at a North East equine veterinary centre. In 2012 she gained her REVN nursing qualification and took on the role of Head Nurse at her previous practice. Jude particularly enjoys surgery and nursing intensive care cases. When she’s not at work Jude helps on the family farm, assisting with running a large livery yard, whilst juggling 2 children under the age of 5 and attempting to keep herself fit

Hannah joined Hambleton Equine Clinic in November 2017 and qualified as an Equine Veterinary Nurse in 2011. Hannah worked at an equine practice in Wales for six years prior to joining our team. Hannah deals with all aspects of nursing and her main areas of interest are stud, reproduction and neonatal foal care. She has recently achieved her AI certificate.

Nic is the first port of call for invoicing and payments as well as heading up the reception team and also our insurance guru.
