A Leading Equine Veterinary Practice based in North Yorkshire.
We are proud to state that we designed our practice with the care of all our patients in mind. Inside the clinic, our clean inpatient area consists of our diagnostic imaging suite, standing surgery room, large operating theatre as well as our padded induction and recovery room. Additionally, we have four intensive care boxes situated near to recovery, as this allows our patients to move directly into one of these boxes immediately post-operation, so that our close and careful monitoring to continue seamlessly once our patients are out of theatre. Each of these boxes is equipped with full rubber flooring which extends one metre up the walls, intravenous fluid therapy systems, CCTV, individual lighting and heat lamps, all of which is visible through the large viewing windows. This set up allows us to monitor our patients regularly throughout the day and night, with the needs of each individual horse being specifically catered to. If your animal needs to stay with us, we accept your animal for hospitalisation at our premises overnight or over the weekend, the frequency of checks will be determined by the veterinary surgeon and other members of our team will then attend your animal as appropriate. If your animal is critically ill, continuous monitoring can be provided if deemed necessary. To the extent practicable, we will provide you with an estimate in respect of the fees for such inpatient care prior to that care commencing.
Our veterinary interns keep a watchful eye on inpatients at regular intervals throughout the day and night. In the case of high-dependency patients being with us in our intensive care boxes, our on-site accommodation allows the interns to catch some well-earned rest between checking patients that need the most involved levels of care from our team.
Our Facilities
Great care and attention has been taken to ensure the best welfare for our patients. From our non-slip rubber flooring throughout the hospital, to the extra wide and tall doorways so that the horses feel at ease when moving around, we do our utmost to make sure horses feel safe in our facilities. We have even specifically selected the lighting within the clinic so that it mimics daylight as we believe this reduces anxious behaviours in many horses.
