Getting to know the Hambleton team!
First up we have Tori Wright RVN, one of our wonderful veterinary nurses. Tori joined us in October 2016 after completing her Level 3 veterinary nursing diploma at Myerscough college.
Q: Why did you become a veterinary nurse? A: I did a degree in equine therapy and rehabilitation and it was there that I first learnt about nursing and wanted to pursue it.
Q: Do you have a specific field of work that you particularly enjoy? A: I particularly enjoy doing worm egg counts (I’m currently qualifying as a SQP) bone scanning and surgery.
Q: Funniest moment working at HEC? A: There have been many! When Fran and I carry out bone scans; whilst scanning each body part we put it into a song. Our best one so far is Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees “Ah ah ah ah… scapula, scapula!”
Q: Favourite thing to do outside of work? A: My favourite thing to do outside of work is long walks with the dog in the Lake District, I enjoy running and I am going to do a 1/2 marathon this month.
Q: If you could ask your pet 3 questions, what would they be? A: I would ask my dog, Loki, “Do you love me and as much as I love you? Where’s you favourite place to walk? Do you prefer you ears or tummy to be tickled?”
Q: If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you’d do? A: I would book a safari holiday.
