We have a 12 month contract opportunity, with the option to extend at the end of this period depending on the needs of the business. This vacancy is for a full-time experienced equine veterinary surgeon MRCVS starting September 2020 to work as part of our busy ambulatory team. Ideally you would hold an AVP certificate but this is not essential.
Caseload will be variable with the emphasis on ambulatory, sports horse and racing work but may include some reproduction work if that is of interest. We offer a full service including ambulatory, diagnostic and surgical services based at our busy equine clinic in Great Ayton, North Yorkshire. Our facilities include overground endoscopy, MRI, scintigraphy, standing surgery, theatre, intensive care and in-patient facilities. Our caseload covers pleasure and leisure, performance and sports horses along with racing and stud work. This is an opportunity to gain a good breadth of experience.
You will work a five day week and will also take an equal share in the out of hours on-call rota. This is currently one week night every other week and one weekend in six, with one bank holiday every year.

We are really happy that we have so many applications for posts at Hambleton Equine, but this does mean that we cannot reply to every applicant in person. We will normally conduct first and second round interviews. Second round interviews will usually involve hands-on time in the relevant position to assess skills.
